Abstract:

A holistic approach to patient care that considers not just the physical elements of health but also each person's emotional, mental, and spiritual requirements is known as comprehensive and spiritual nursing care. The interdependence of these dimensions and their role in promoting general health and healing are acknowledged in this kind of therapy. Nurses strive to establish a healing atmosphere that upholds patients' dignity, respect, and compassion by offering holistic and spiritual nursing care. This method acknowledges the significance of spiritual ideas and values in the healing process and calls on nurses to evaluate and address them with patients. Nursing has always included these elements in the care it provides. Serving the sick and impoverished was primarily a means of serving God, and nursing originated from religious orders. Florence Nightingale's spirituality and faith informed every facet of her care since she felt that nursing was her vocation from God. Despite research showing how important it is to provide care in these areas, many nurses today are afraid to address their patients' spiritual issues. To satisfy their patients' spiritual needs, nurses might employ interventions like prayer, scripture, active listening, presence, and referral. By incorporating spiritual care into nursing practice, healthcare practitioners can assist patients in discovering meaning, purpose, and hope in their health journeys. This can have better outcomes, more patient satisfaction, and a stronger sense of connection and support for people confronting health issues.
