Exploring the Relationship between Water Resource Management and Community Health in Jordan: A Literature-based Case Study

Abstract:

Background: Nurses play a key role in educating communities about safe water practices, hygiene, and disease prevention related to waterborne illnesses.

Objective: This detailed examination rigorously investigates the complex and multifarious relationship between the management of water resources and the various health outcomes observed in communities across Jordan.

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted using databases such as PubMed Through Medline), Web of Science, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate. Keywords included: "water resource management", "community health", "Jordan", "waterborne diseases", "public health", and "nursing and environmental health".

Results: It underscores the essential role that sustainable practices and innovative strategies play in fostering, protecting, and improving public health and well-being for individuals and communities. The analysis goes deeper into the ways that these sustainable water management techniques influence individual health results, as well as their broader societal consequences. Furthermore, it addresses these practices' substantial impact on economic stability, growth, and long-term prosperity.

Conclusion: By synthesizing extensive knowledge, data, and insights derived from this comprehensive research, there lies significant potential for enhancing the living standards of numerous individuals. The study aims to contribute to a healthier future for all residents, ultimately facilitating greater community resilience, sustainability, and innovation. The results illustrate the interconnectedness of water resources and health and stress the immediate necessity for effective strategies that can improve quality of life, reduce health disparities, and cultivate a supportive environment for all stakeholders involved.

Implication for Nursing: Nurses can monitor and report health outcomes linked to water quality, such as diarrheal diseases, skin infections, or other water-related conditions. Additionally, nurses, especially those in public and community health roles, can advocate for improved water management policies that prioritize health outcomes.
